NanoCAD has proven to be a valuable tool for users across various industries and projects. One particular benefit that users have found is the ability to duplicate content with dimensional scales seamlessly. This feature has been especially useful for projects with different dimensions and components, allowing for efficient replication without any issues.

For larger projects with budgets exceeding $100k, NanoCAD has been implemented to save time and increase overall efficiency. Users have found it necessary to closely train their staff on shortcuts and time-saving techniques to maximize productivity. The software's flexibility and user-friendly interface have enabled teams to streamline their workflow effectively.

NanoCAD has also demonstrated its effectiveness in designing new car parts and creating build blocks for various projects. Its unlimited creative aspects allow users to explore their imagination without limitations on scaling, 3D view, or wall colors, setting it apart from other software that restricts the use of pre-set product images.

In addition to design work and rendering, NanoCAD has been widely utilized for software development purposes within companies. It aids in resolving structural issues and facilitates the creation of both two-dimensional and three-dimensional planes. The software's versatility allows programmers to seamlessly transition between different project requirements.

Furthermore, NanoCAD has proven valuable in designing small building components, valves, and 2D structures. Users appreciate the software's ease of use in managing, cleaning up, editing, and creating CAD files on a daily basis. Creating 2D floor plans is effortless, with the added advantage of being able to delete layers in the layer manager—an option often lacking in other software solutions.

Another significant use case for NanoCAD is reviewing drawings, incorporating new design ideas, and modeling drafts for equipment changes. The software provides all the necessary tools required by CAD programs while maintaining user-friendly functionality.

Though currently not extensively utilized in the business environment, NanoCAD is regularly updated and compared to AutoCAD for potential future implementation.

Overall, NanoCAD's extensive range of use cases, including dimensional scaling, project efficiency, car part design, software development, small component design, file management, and drawing review, make it a versatile solution for professionals across multiple industries.

Free Version: Users appreciate that nanoCAD offers a 100% free version, allowing them to learn and use the software without any financial commitment. Many reviewers have mentioned this as a positive aspect of the software.

Support for .dwg format: The use of the .dwg extension in nanoCAD has been praised by users. This is because many other CAD software do not support this format, making it easier for users to work with existing files. Several reviewers have highlighted this feature as beneficial.

Intuitive Interface: The interface of nanoCAD has been described as intuitive by users, especially for those with previous experience in managing CAD tools. This positive aspect makes tasks easier to perform and has been mentioned by multiple reviewers.

  • Slow rendering and performance: Some users have found that the rendering of plans in NanoCAD greatly complicates the performance of their computer, requiring a powerful graphic tool. This can result in lagging and slow response times, impacting productivity.
  • Steep learning curve: Many reviewers have mentioned that it takes a while to learn how to maneuver and use the software, especially for those without prior CAD training. The complex interface and extensive features may be overwhelming for beginners, leading to a steep learning curve.
  • Strain from dark background: Users have noted that the dark background of the software can be tiring, particularly when used for extended periods of time. The lack of contrast between elements on the screen may cause eye strain and fatigue.

Users have provided several recommendations for the software. Many users find it to be highly versatile, allowing for designing without the need for extra elements or additional work. They suggest considering it as a backup option due to its easy availability. Some users believe that there is potential for improvement and recommend adding more features to enhance its functionality. Furthermore, they suggest using the software for a more human-like design experience. Users also advise exploring the licensing options, noting that the software is not locked to a specific computer. Overall, nanoCAD could be a viable alternative for companies in need of an AutoCAD clone, particularly those outside the government sector that do not require subscription services.

We use it to manage and clean up, edit, and create cad files on a daily basis. We make layouts and print on large format paper as well. It's very easy to make 2d floor plans with it. It lets you delete layers in layer manager, which others do not. It's easy to teach new users on it and set up their templates. When installing updates, it lets you merge your existing personal user settings into the new update with no extra actions needed.
  • It is user friendly
  • It allows to delete unwanted layers unlike AutoCAD.
  • It doesn't require updates every year.
  • It is easy to train new users and install is easy as well.
  • It lacks some functions that AutoCAD has, but for the price, it could be worth it on your end.
It is great when cleaning up CAD files and allowing for 3rd party add-ins. It allows you to delete used layers. It would be nice if it saved to smaller file sizes when saving as an older DWG. It is easy to scale drawings and make floor plan layouts. It would be nice if it would pick up the default units that I set for my preference when opening up a converted file from pdf.
  • Simple drawing tools.
  • Cleaning up files to import into 3rd party software.
  • Procedure of creating and printing layouts.
  • There is nothing negative that we experienced for what we do with it.
Nano cad is a little simpler to operate and understand how to do features. AutoCAD is what we would say a little more powerful piece of software but you end up paying more as well. Nanocad is a lot quicker to make small floor plans. It also allows you to delete layers with entities which the competitor doesn't.

We use it to create and edit CAD files. We create floor plans as well. We edit large format drawings and make them work for our operation. When training new users, they catch on pretty quickly and grab the bull by the horns. Installation and implementation is a breeze and stress-free.
We do not have anyone on staff, but between two employees, they are usually able to solve or take care of any issues or help that is needed to complete the job.
  • Cleaning and editing large format files.
  • Creating simple floor plans.
We like NanoCAD for what it does for us and will renew or license when the time comes. There is no question of doubt because we are very happy with it.

I use NanoCAD to review drawings for the new changes we are doing to our equipment. Also, add new design ideas and model draft to then convert into stl for part printing. The ease of use with the convenience of having all the tools in other CAD programs makes the experience even better.
  • Easy to use
  • Great for Drafting
  • Opens all CAD files from other systems
  • Same commands as other CAD programs
  • 3d Designs
  • Rendering
NanoCAD can make you job easier for managing drawings with computers that are not fitted with high end processors. It does not use as many resources as other programs which makes it simple to use. It lacks the ability to render 3d object or to import or create 3d models.
  • Compatibility
  • Ease of use
  • Low system requirements
  • It's free to use
  • No need to buy special high end computers
NanoCAD has been the best solution after using other high-priced software systems. It has all the tools I need and no need to upgrade my computer system. I run it on a Windows 11, Core i5 Computer with 8 gb of ram and integrated graphics with no issues. It does not use up much space in my ssd.
